Now Hiring Full and Part-time Barbers for Parkville and Rivermarket

We’re looking for more of Kansas City’s best barbers and stylists to join our shops! The Barberette, established in 2018, is a barbershop for the men of KC who enjoy the finer things. Both of our industrial loft-style shops in Rivermarket and Parkville have fast highway access, lots of activity, and loads of local character. We specialize in clipper cutting, beard care and shaves. We also offer men’s color, waxing and high-end grooming products. We set the bar high – we want nothing but the best for our customers. That means great customer service, cleanliness, and clear communication are requirements of the job.

Responsibilities:

• Assess hair and scalp health and recommend treatments and products
• Consult with clients and advise hairstyle and hair treatment options
• Cut and style hair to clients’ specifications
• Use chemical solutions, hair dyes and styling tools
• Maintain shop sanitation and health standards, including cleaning and disinfecting workstations
• Trim and groom clients’ facial hair with combs, razors, scissors and clippers
• Process client payments

Requirements:

• Active barber or cosmetology license in good standing
• Time management skills to complete client services in an efficient and timely manner
• Technical knowledge and skill for hair to assist clients with a variety of hair types and needs
• Interpersonal skills to connect with clients, building long-term relationships and client loyalty
• Aesthetic creativity to create unique styles tailored to client-specific visions
• Communication skills to listen and understand client requests, as well as discuss various options and decisions before, during and after services
• Customer service skills as necessary for performing transactions, scheduling appointments and following up with clients
• Physical abilities that allow for standing for long periods and performing precise cuts

Full-time and part-time positions are available during shop hours – Monday-Friday 10a-7p and Saturday 10a-5p.
